Day 21: Sun 30 Jul: Moss to Oslo

Cycle: 70 km - Total so far: 927 km

Start time: 9:0am
Stop time: 3:15pm
Weather: overcast all day but fine, 14 to 18deg

We had no competition on the roads early as the Norwegians don't like early starts, especially on a Sunday. That said we weren't that early as breakfast was not served till 8am so we didn't get on the road till 9am. The highlight of the day was fairly early when we found a dirt road through some forest and farmlands. The rolling hills with all the different colours of the crops at different stages of maturity are just a picture. The rest of the day was fairly undulating and apart from the odd water view and farm it was a little suburban.

Oslo was busy on arrival but not too bad for riding through. We quickly found the Anker Hotel and checked in.  Greg then went off to check the best way (train or bus) to get to Karlstad, 220km which we won't have time to ride. After finding Ken and Maree at the front of the Information queue he jumped in with them. Bottom line is the Swedes don't like bikes on trains so off he went to the Bus Information desk. AS$50 each for a bike and one adult fare, which doesn't seem too expensive. The others will get their tickets tomorrow.

Dinner was really nice pasta/pizza at Mamma Pizza, about 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Tomorrow we explore Oslo.
