Day 5: Fri 14 Jul: Copenhagen to Frederiksvaerk
Cycle: 72 km - Total so far: 135 km Start time: 8:25am Stop time: 2:45pm Weather: 11 to 20deg, cloudy but fine It was great to leave the hotel this morning on the first real day of the tour. We had to ride through the city, but it was not a problem as we were on probably the best cycling infrastructure in the world. Took us about an hour and a half to clear the city limits and get our first taste of the countryside. We loved what we saw, everything so green and a nice mix of crops and livestock. We ended up at Farum for morning tea, where we had Starbucks coffee from a servo which was not too bad. It was then off to Hillerod where we ate our takeaway rolls (from breakfast) and fruit lunch. Hillerod is the home of the very big and impressive Frederikborg Castle. Although we didn't venture inside, if the courtyards and exterior are any indication the inside would be pretty flash.
