Day 1: Tue 10 Jul: Home to Brisbane to Dubai
Drive: 283km We left home about 12:30pm and the drive went well. We arrived at the Gateway Airport Parking location about 4pm, after an easy 3.5 hour drive. They drove us, and the bikes, to the airport and it was a bit of a wait for the check-in to open. We would rather be too early than have to rush. With the check-in done we were quickly settled down for dinner in the Emirates Lounge, which is much more salubrious than the QANTAS Club. Very nice smoked salmon entree for Greg while Wendy had a chicken Caesar salad. Mains were barra and veg for Greg and lamb and veg for Wens. A little piece of cheese cake washed down with a glass or two of Moët was the perfect finale. How do we put up with such rugged conditions? Reality will kick in after we settle in on board the A380 in cattle class 😩 . Our first flight this trip and it was delayed.
