Day 14: Sun 23 Jul: Gothenburg

Cycle: 35 km - Total so far: 519 km

Start time: 9am
Stop time: 2:30pm
Weather: fine and sunny earlier turning to cloudy, windy with a few spots of rain later

Took our time over breakfast and eventually left at 9 am. Just four of us again as Maree and Ken wanted to see the sights that we'd seen yesterday. Cruised around some very quiet streets in the city and ended up at the Horticultural Gardens / Palm House. We then headed out of town over the big bridge to the Volvo Museum. After a coffee fix for the two ladies we spent about an hour and a half in a very well appointed establishment. Lots of beautifully maintained cars, trucks, buses and concept vehicles. Of course all the Volvo Classics were there in all their glory.  We returned to the hotel, via a different bridge, and saw some really nice apartments on the northern banks of the city's river.  As it was Sunday and very light rain started to fall just as we reached the hotel, we called a halt to the tourist activities for today. Time to catch up with some admin.

Wendy had a Swedish Pharmacy friend, Ulf, to catch-up with so she went back to the pub we had dinner at last night. The others joined them for dinner later while Greg had a food/drink-free night due to a mild head cold.
